Receiving your Documents

This “document sharing” system allows us to send a link to an online folder unique to the client where the documents will be waiting for the client to access.

Given the increasing need for vigilance with cyber security, removing the need for attachments by email is especially important for any financial documents which often contain sensitive information.

Your accountant will send through your personalised link when sending documents to you. The documents we may share through this link include forms for you to complete, prior year tax returns and other general documents.

Through this system we are able to send one document, or multiple documents at the same time, and any type of document including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF.

To ensure this is secure, clients will be prompted to request a verification code via email to verify that the person opening the link is the correct recipient.

• If you are a Microsoft 365 Business user and are already logged into your account in an open browser, the shared folder displays straight away. If you are not already logged in, you will be prompted to login to your Microsoft account and the folder then displays.
• If you are not a Microsoft 365 Business user, you will need to enter your email address. This sends you an email with a verification code that you enter to access the folder. 

Once you have been verified, you will be able to see the documents we have shared with you. You can either open these on your web browser or download the documents to save elsewhere.  If you have any issues accessing the link or any questions about this process, please get in touch with us.  Should you have any problems uploading your documents, it may be due to the following:  

• You are already a Microsoft 365 Business user – If you are a Microsoft 365 Business user, you will not need to request the verification code. You may be prompted to enter your password, if you are not already logged in to your Microsoft account in an open browser. The password you will need to enter is for your existing Microsoft 365 account. 
• The email address you are using to access the link is not the recipient email used – Double check the email address the link was sent to before trying again. 
• The verification code email goes to your junk/spam folder – After requesting the code, if the verification email does not come into your Inbox check your junk/spam folder. If the email does go here, please trust this site/sender so future codes go straight to your Inbox and add to your safe senders list. 
• You do not receive a verification code in your inbox or junk/spam folder The verification code email may have been stopped by your business’ spam filter and/or firewall. Contact your IT service to have the email address – [email protected] – added to your business’ email whitelist and the firewall investigated. 
• The verification code is not valid – This means that you are using an old code. It is best to go back to the email containing the secure link and request a new code. Only request this code
