Allan Hall Secures First Place at the 2020 Beecraft SurfAid Cup

The sun was shining, the atmosphere was fierce and a big swell provided the ultimate conditions for the annual Beecraft SurfAid Cup, held at Manly Beach on Friday 5th of November, raising vital funds for SurfAid’s Mother and Child Health Programmes.

SurfAid Cup 2020 Allan Hall Winners

The Allan Hall/Big Hill Beach Cottages Surfing Team fought off some tough competition, winning our heat, semi and final to take home first place!

The Allan Hall/Big Hill Beach Cottages team consisted of Greg Anderson and Jake Somerville surfing on behalf of Allan Hall, and father and son team Rob and Billy Bain surfing on behalf of Big Hill Beach Cottages.

Through our great fundraising efforts, we had 4th pick on the professional surfers who were volunteering their expertise in honour of the day and we selected Connor O’Learly, who is also an Allan Hall client, as our team’s pro-surfer.  Allan Hall Partner, Scott Somerville together with Big Hill Beach Cottages owner Gary Lord were also there to share in the team’s glory.

The day is certainly not all about surfing, however, and we are extremely proud of our fundraising efforts this year, in which our team raised $10,650 for SurfAid’s Mother & Child Health Programmes thanks to our clients and friends. Overall fundraising efforts from all teams involved in the 2020 SurfAid Cup came to an incredible total of $171,087. That fundraising effort equates to six villages receiving full-scale programs from SurfAid. We would like to thank everyone involved in this year’s competition, and we would especially like to thank those who donated to our team and supported us towards success on the day!
