Allan Hall Wraps Up Another Big Year of Charity and Community Support for 2019 with 30 Hairy Days for Movember

As Christmas approaches, it is always a good time to reflect and think of those less fortunate than ourselves and those that have been through hard times.

As part of our Thrive Program, our team at Allan Hall continue to support those less fortunate, by donating to charities that have relevance and meaning to our staff, clients and local community. This is something that we are continuously focusing on as a firm, now and into the future.

Throughout 2019, our team at Allan Hall supported charities and communities through independent events as well as our monthly Friday mufti-day events. We continue to participate and contribute to raising funds and donating to a chosen cause. Some of the other charities and causes that we have supported throughout 2019 include SurfAid, The Orangutan Project, Jersey Day, Allergy Immunology (World Allergy Week), Cancer Council (Breast Cancer), Reach Out, Heart Foundation, Manly Warringah Netball Association, Gotcha 4 Life, Royal Far West, Curl Curl Longboarders Maljam, New South Wales Rural Fire Service and Movember

We have a process for considering support for charities and causes, so please let us know if you have a suggestion for a recipient for our 2020 fundraising efforts that you would like us to consider.

Movember is just one of the charities that the Allan Hall team have supported throughout 2019, as we went through 30 very hairy days in November.

Allan Hall Movember Team

Movember aims to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health issues each year, with a particular focus on prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. To play our part in reducing the stigma surrounding men’s physical and mental health, our team at Allan Hall Business Advisors participated in Movember, raising $900 in the month of November, whilst growing our mo’s for mental health.

Male suicides account for 75% of all suicides in Australia, and worldwide, one man commits suicide every minute.

Testicular cancer rates have doubled in the past 50 years and prostate cancer rates are predicted to double over the next 15 years. These alarming facts often go unnoticed, as it is a common conception that male’s will shelter themselves from addressing potential health issues. Now more then ever, we must stand by the concept of “healthy masculinity”, allowing for any male of any age to be provided with the tools, knowledge and education to create meaningful conversations about their mental and physical health.

Our good friend and office neighbour, Gus Worland from Gotcha4Life, continues to support Movember with the Man Up Mission. This mission is a fundraising campaign, aiming to reduce the number of premature deaths by funding research projects, education and more. Gus’ vision is to change the way men are treated and supported, and more importantly, how they treat themselves.

We would like to extend a very special thank you to all our clients and friends who supported our mighty mo-brothers in their fundraising efforts. We understand that you all get asked to donate to a lot of fundraising drives and your support is very much appreciated.
